Third Ravine and The Gap. Moderate hike, 5 miles and1200 feet total elevation gain. This hike starts out looking very unassuming. We begin the hike walking down a dirt road towards a very unappealing sub station. but quickly head us up the third ravine and explore the cave near the top. Then we will take a side trip up to the next level of sandstone to the beautiful carin on steroids, before looping back down on a different trail towards the van. Sometimes we choose to add on an extra adventure and take our brave guests down a steep, rocky slope into The Gap and continue down that wash back to the comfort of the van. For those who don’t want to attempt the steep descent, there is an alternate well-defined trail that leads back down toward the same destination. Except for that steep, rocky slope, we will be following trails. There is some scrambling and a fair amount of boulder-hopping in the ravine.
