Gila Hike, Moderate, 5+ miles. We start our Gila hike at the Johnson Arch parking lot just outside the west end of Snow Canyon State Park. We wind through a vivid lava field and down into a wash. We follow the wash to the base of beautiful cliffs with Scouts Cave as a destination. After Scouts Cave we continue to ascend to Paradise Rim. Here the trail often looks familuar for this is where the trail meets with the Chuckwalla trail and Paradise Rim. This is a point to point hike…and we hike to the parking lot above a well used rock climbing wall!
