- At other weight loss destinations you might be able to hike a little each day… at Desert Cliffs we hike every day and we hike extreme! During your visit to Desert Cliffs Hiking Spa, you will hike every day in some of the most incredible terrain on the planet! Our hikes/walks will last anywhere from 4 to 8 hours depending on your fitness level and the diversity of the terrain. Lose weight and gain muscle, but do it in a way that you will absolutely love – get out of the gym and into the beautiful outdoors. You will eat a delicious calorie controlled meal plan that you will find not only to be very delicious but very filling as well. You will adopt a lifestyle that will result in losing weight fast and feeling better about yourself because of changes in appearance and fitness levels. Learn the necessary basics that you will need to continue the process after you return to your life at home. Yes it will be hard - but oh boy, it’ll be worth it!!
- Every day will consist of 3 healthy delicious meals and snacks, a glorious hike that will fit your individual fitness level. We also have an amazing world-class fitness facility that you will have complete access with in-door and out-door pools, Jacuzzi hot-tubs, and beautiful spa for treatments or massage as well as several types of scheduled classes like yoga, zumba, power-lifting, aquasize, spinning, kick-boxing and many more classes all from certified trainers that you can choose to attend if you still have the energy. Every day will be different because every day the hike will be different. We will take you to Zion National Park at least once a week at no additional charge. You will also receive very informative education from experts in nutrition, diet, cooking, fitness and health during the week.
- Why Chose a hiking program to lose weight??
There are many reasons; but for starters: hiking is a great workout of natural interval training that not only burns fat, but helps you build muscle in every major muscle group. When combining our structured environment of diet and exercise with professional guides trained in CPR and First-Aid, your weight loss goals become much more attainable. We use the latest equipment available, and when you check-in we measure your body inches, weight, BMI, body fat %, muscle %, RMR (resting metabolic rate) and visceral fat. Then we measure it again during and at the end of your stay – letting you understand what your exact results are. But the best reason to come to Desert Cliffs Hiking Spa is because; you can go to a gym to work-out in just about any part of the world, but wouldn’t you rather lose weight by enjoying life in an environment that will push you beyond what you even thought was possible!
- Who is our program designed for??
Our program is flexible enough to work with adults at just about any age and fitness level. We can accommodate most injuries and limitations. Feel free to call or email any questions or concerns that you might have about your fitness level or health issues. We are an adult program but we do except youth between the ages of 14 and 17 if accompanied by an adult guardian.
- Worried about the heat of the summer??
No need to worry – we are open year-round and yes it does get very hot in the St. George, Utah area during the summer months, but we take you on hikes early in the morning before it gets hot, and we take you to hiking trails in higher elevations where the temperature is much, much cooler. Many of the hikes that we go on in the summer are not even available for most of the year because of snow and closures. It does take a little longer to get there, but the hikes are well worth it!

Whether you are training for a marathon or you need to lose substantial weight, we can help you take the biggest step in the process. Maybe you want to tone up to look better out by the pool, or you have got to lose weight because you feel like you ran a marathon after a flight of stairs??? You might want to lose the “baby weight”, or maybe you have the type of job that just makes it difficult to live the lifestyle you know you should, and now you have got to do something that is going to change your life??? We can help! Regardless of your individual personal goals, our program will challenge you to improve your current fitness level.
